Background of the Organization

Established in 1986 with a mandate to work together to address the social concerns, as a collaborative force, to bring about social transformation with a communitarian and global perspective.  Uttar Kshetriya Samaj Vikas Kendra (UKSVK, Northern Regional Forum) is the network of 12 dioceses of Agra Ecclesial Region comprising of three of states of North India namely, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Rajasthan.

The Forum in its 31 years of its existence has been successfully carrying out the role of a facilitating & support body for its partner organizations. It contributes greatly in capacity building by providing trainings, workshops, exposure programs, training support & follow up etc., at various levels. Commendable contribution in the area of quality   Information Dissemination, voicing the Gender Concerns & awareness generation, especially in vernacular is widely acknowledged.

 To its credit the first and only regional forum that has women’s representative from every Diocese who are members in the decision making bodies even as office bearers and in the executive level as well. Its successful initiation and effective facilitation in the  implementation of regional  common programs not only  groomed a great pool  effective personnel at various levels who makes a lot of difference in the region but also the phrase “Empower Women Transform The Society” is being realized in a big way.
